PLEASE NOTE: This is a preorder item, there are currently none in stock. This item will ship 4-8 weeks after the order is placed, depending on where I am at in the making process. These require very slow drying time to prevent warping.

The best home for orchids! The handmade ceramic basket is also great for ferns, bromeliads, and other plants. Similar to the classic wooden cedar baskets, these are hand-sculpted from clay, with a wood texture carved into the surface. No glaze or slip is applied to the clay, leaving the natural dark chocolate color of the clay after it’s been fired. Unlike wood, these baskets will never rot!

Approximately 3 feet of hemp cordage is attached to each of the wire loops, allowing you to tie a loop and hang at your desired length. You can remove the cords and place the basket directly on a windowsill if you prefer.

Each ceramic basket is handcrafted so there will be slight differences between them. Each is unique but similar to the item in the photographs. 

Care Notes: For orchids, line the ceramic basket with sphagnum moss and top it with orchid potting mix. After adding the orchid cover with more potting mix and sphagnum moss. The aerial roots will emerge from between the ceramic basket pieces over time, allowing them to absorb moisture and secure the plant in the basket. When the bottom section of the planting medium feels dry (about once a week) place the plant in the sink and run water over it until saturated - hang it back up when it has stopped dripping water.
